Developing Cultural Intelligence: Adapting Nepalese Culture To Global Job Market - 15th March 2022
Otto delivered a lecture as part of the TBC Distinguished Guest Lecture Series II - Session 2 titled ‘Developing Cultural Intelligence: Adapting Nepalese Culture to Global Job Market’.
Session Intro:
Nepalese people are known globally for being kind, hardworking and respectful. However, these qualities may not match the ideal work ethic expectations from the international culture. So how do we bridge this gap? - understand the
key differences.
This session helped Nepali students/professionals to see their culture from a different perspective and offered recommendations on what can be done to work effectively with international customers and employers.
Ultimately the goal was to become able for thinking like a 'citizen of the world', become able to pick and choose how one can behave depending on who we are working with within different cultural contexts.
The session explored the Nepalese culture using the Culture Map framework.
